When Great VVolt Lodge, one of the nation's premiere indoor water parks, hotel and family entertainment centers, wanted to develop a unique ;pace for its young tween and teen guests, resort )fficials turned to MGR Professional Electronic Systems Integrators and products from Kramer Electronics and Sierra Video Systems.
MGR, the nationally contracted installer for Great Wolf Resorts, created a tantalizing teen space for the Lodge featuring multi-media video and :ommercial audio-based entertainment systems. MGR also provided sales, service, design and consulting for all the communications, data-fiber networks, audio, security systems, and theming in Great Wolf's 11 U.S. resorts.

Called the "GR-8 Space," the teen room design has been retrofitted in three Lodge locations, with several more to follow. Kramer Electronics scaleand switcher products are at the heart of the system.
The room features eight big screen plasma televisions, four big screen LCD monitors and a 6 x 8 video screen. Twelve computers allow guests to access personal web-based pages, listen to their iPod or iTunes, or review digital photos from their personal camera. |
Music, video and multi-media entertainment are distributed through the system. Families can visit the space during the day to play Wii or Xbox 360 or the giant screens, watch TV or sporting events, sing Karaok and participate in fun video and dance contests.
At night, a disc jockey turns the room into a new wave millennb,m interactive light and audio show, complete with LED lighting, music videos, |

and its own disc jockey booth," said Stanley Kalisek, president of MGR Professional Electronic Systems Integrators in Flint, MI. "It gives the teens and tsveens their own venue to have fun with their peers."
The Kramer VS-162V 16x16 RGB HV matrix switcher is the system's mainstay, allowing video and audio to be switched to any of the 13 screens. The VP-413 digital scaler and SP-10D video processor assure clear, bigger-than-life pictures from every source. The system is controlled by the SCM-200 controller and the entire Kramer product line is accessible in a 77-inch stand-up rack.
MGR is also installing the audio/video systems and low voltage cabling systems in 30,000 squarefoot conference centers at new locations of Great Wolf Lodge in Texas and North Carolina. The conference centers, which are scheduled to open in late 2008 and 2009 respectively, will feature Sierra Video Systems 3232V5 video and audio routing snitchers to route video and audio sources throughout five conference rooms.

"Kramer products have been part of our repertoire for many years in the various facets of our business, from houses of worship, schools and hotels, to nightclubs," said Kalisek. "Their sales and technical teams are a great asset to our installers with engineering scopes, product placement and service." The first three Lodges to be retrofitted with the Kramer product were Williamsburg, VA, Dallas, TX and Seattle, WA. Kalisek said the GR-8 space wil be included in new resorts later this year, and there is a plan to retrofit the remainirg seven U.S. properties in the years to come. |
